2023: Ex-Ajimobi aide, Kunle Olatunji dumps APC, joins Labour party gubernatorial race

Kunle Olatunji, a former Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Olatunji made this announcement on Saturday.

The former special assistant to Ajimobi explained that he has dumped the APC and has since joined the Labour Party.

Olatunji who spoke with Newsmen Saturday morning declared that he joined the Labour party to realise his gubernatorial ambition.

He insisted that the recent development in the APC made him leave the party.

He added that the infractions of leadership tussle, lack of commitment, trust and confidence among the leadership of the party, necessitated his action to leave for the Labour party where he will contest the gubernatorial election.

Olatunji added that the Labour Party will be the best alternative to APC and PDP in the state.

He said, “I expressed my worries about the dwindling fortunes of the party in recent times, a situation which spells dooms for the All Progressive Congress in the forthcoming general elections.

” The Labour Party is a formidable coalition that is capable of springing surprises that will dislodge the two prominent parties APC and PDP which obviously are lacking in quality vision and action plans as well as a commitment to good governance.

“There is a need to urgently curtail the tendencies of plunging the nation into further worrisome position of endless tales of woes that are capable of positioning the Nigeria polity into further unimaginable chaos which may be irredeemable if a mega political force such as the Labour Party does not urgently intervene to save the day.

“In this new development, I confirmed to you that I will pursue my gubernatorial ambition of the Labour party in 2023”.
