2023: ‘They can’t manage ethnic diversity, rescue themselves – Keyamo mocks PDP

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has taken a swipe at the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over the zoning of the presidential ticket.

As next year’s general election draws near, the PDP has been debating on what zone to grant its presidential ticket.

Recall that reports emerged recently that the opposition party has thrown its presidential ticket open for all aspirants.

However, the PDP governors from the South have insisted that the 2023 presidential ticket be zoned to the South for fairness and equity.

Aspirants under the South-East zone include Ex-Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and American-based Medical doctor, Nwachukwu Anakwenze.

Reacting to the development, Keyamo called out the PDP over its inability to manage ethnic diversity in its party.

He wondered how the opposition party plans to rescue Nigeria when they can’t rescue themselves.

On his Twitter page, Keyamo wrote: “Those who criticise us that we’ve divided Nigeria along ethnic lines can’t manage the ethnic diversity of their own party; in seeking for their Presidential ticket, they have now divided their own party along ethnic lines.

“Those who cannot rescue themselves want to rescue Nigeria.”
