Those involed in bombing Obiozor’s house won’t go unpunished – Southeast youth leaders vow

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, the umbrella body of the youth groups in the South East geopolitical zone has condemned the bombing and destruction of the home of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor.

Recall that Obiozor’s country home in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State was razed down by some unknown gunmen few days ago.

The gunmen used Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, and petrol bomb to raze down the building.

Reacting, in a statement issued by its President General, Goodluck Ibem, COSEYL, which described the arson as “madness taken too far”, said those behind the unfortunate incident must not go unpunished, saying it is not in the nature of Ndigbo to commit arson or disrespect elders in the land.

According to the statement, “Professor George Obiozor since he took over the mantle of leadership as the President General of the Apex socio-cultural group of Ndigbo, he has never been found wanting on any matter affecting Ndigbo. He has always defended the interest of our people at all times.

“Anyone who took part in the planning and destruction of Obiozor’s house is an enemy of Ndigbo and such person or persons will not go unpunished.

“Any tribe that disrespect their leaders should not expect to be respected by other tribes outside their region. These arsonists and their co-travellers must be arrested to account for their actions against this great leader of Ndigbo.

“We call on security agencies and the youths of Awo Mmamma to mobilize themselves immediately, move into action and ensure that those who embarked on these despicable act of shame are brought to book”.
