Popular music star D’banj has revealed how he secured a
position as one of the judges on the Nigerian idol show.
In January, D’banj, Simi, and others were unveiled as judges
for the seventh season of Nigerian Idol by its organisers.
During his introduction, the ‘Kokomaster’ expressed his
excitement at being one of the judges this season.
He said: “I was out of the country when I found out that I
was going to be a judge for this season of Nigerian Idol, and I couldn’t
contain my excitement. I’m coming in with my strategy, so viewers should expect
a bang.”
In a new video that recently surfaced on the internet, the
“Fall in Love” singer was having chitchat with his colleague Omawumi about
popular Abuja-based pastor, Jerry Eze in an episode of the ongoing music
reality TV.
She asked: How did you get to know Pastor Jerry? NSDPP! I
know that everybody will know, ‘what God cannot do does not exist,’ but how did
you know Pastor Jerry.
In his response, the 41-year-old entertainer revealed he has
a great rapport with the pastor as they prayed and fasted for him to be on the
show.
D’banj said: “Listen, I don’t miss it, that’s my church. Oh
my God! I’ve got him on speed dial. How did you think I got this show? We
fasted!
“Then they called me the next day, “Oh! We wanna book you
for a show. We want you to be a judge. Then I said, “Ah! What God cannot do
does not exist.”
