Osun 2022: You’ve been shown red card, Senator Ademola tells Gov Oyetola

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Osun State Governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Monday, said the people of the state have shown the incumbent Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola a red card ahead of the July 16 poll.

Speaking after the Party Chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi had unveiled the Deputy Governorship candidate of the party at its Secretariat in Osogbo, Senator Adeleke said he will be announced as Governor after the election on July 16, 2022.

Adeleke, who spoke in Yoruba, urged residents to make sure Oyetola does not return as Governor of the state by supporting his (Adeleke) gubernatorial ambition massively.

“I can see fear written all over Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, this is not the time to be afraid, he should wait till election day when he will be confronted with reality”.

Earlier in his address, the deputy governorship candidate unveiled Mr Kola Adewusi those with grievance over his choice to sheath their sword in the interest of the party and work for its success at the poll.

Reacting to Adeleke’s comment, the Special Adviser to Governor Oyetola on Political Matters, Oluomo Sunday Akere described the PDP’s candidate dream of winning the election on July 16 as a tall order.

“The people of Osun know what they want and they will not exchange quality for quantity. However, we are not interested in joining issues with them. He and the PDP should wait till after the election to know who is being butted out of the state.

“Oyetola has gotten the support of the people of the state through his numerous infrastructural development and programmes which has endeared him to the masses. We are sure of his coming back to the office”, he said.
