Gbajabiamila’s CoS resigns to contest Zamfara central senatorial by-election

The Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, Sanusi Rikiji has resigned his appointment and declared interest to contest in the forthcoming senate by-election for Zamfara Central senatorial district.

Rikiji said he resigned because he made up his mind to contest the vacant senate position following the resignation of Senator Hassan Mohammed Gusau who resigned from the Senate after he was appointed the Deputy Governor to Bello Mohammed Matawalle.

The Chief of Staff was the immediate past Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly before he was appointed the Chief of Staff to Femi Gbajamibiala.

Rikiji was at the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) headquarters, where he declared his interest to join the Zamfara central senatorial race.

He declared his interest before the state APC executives under the leadership of Tukur Danfulani, that he wanted to occupy the senate seat to further contribute his quota to the political and socio-economic growth of the state.

The former Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly said he intends to add quality to the good representation by the past senators at the national assembly.

He was contesting to assist and support the efforts of Governor Bello Matawalle in the fight against security.
