Oby Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education, says something
was off about the Super Eagles’ performance last night.
The Super Eagles on Sunday crashed out of the ongoing AFCON
tournament in Cameroon, after a 0-1 loss to the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.
Ezekwesili, reacting via her Twitter handle, said although
something was off about the Augustine Eguavoen-led side on Sunday, they gave
Nigerians great moments of rejoicing during their stay in the tournament.
Her tweet read, “We are grateful to the Super Eagles.
Something was off today, but you all did give us great moments of rejoicing
during this tournament.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the
courage to continue that counts. Thank you.Godspeed with your travels.”
Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate on the other
hand joined some Nigerians to blame President Muhammadu Buhari for the defeat.
According to him, the Super Eagles played well against
Tunisia but Buhari was the problem.
His tweet read, “Super Eagles played very well today, but
that terribly dangerous call from Mr. FAILURE Buhari was the problem.
“Buhari is bad luck personified, if you doubt me, ask the
people of Nigeria. May Buhari never happen to you!”
