Kaduna lawmaker shot dead by bandits, says Shehu Sani

 

Aminu Gadagau, a member of the Kaduna state house of assembly, has been reportedly shot dead by bandits.

 

In a tweet on Wednesday, Shehu Sani, former senator representing Kaduna central, said Gadagau was shot dead while returning to Kaduna.

 

“A member of Kaduna state House of Assembly Hon Lirwan Aminu Gadagau from Giwa LG is reportedly shot and killed by Bandits on his way to Kaduna. A tragedy, a day.Inna lillahi wainna Illayhir rajiun,” Sani wrote.

 

When contacted, Mohammed Jalige, police public relations officer in Kaduna state, said he is yet to confirm the development.

 

The north-western state has continued to witness a surge in the activities of bandits despite the proscription all bandit groups in the country.

 

The attack comes about 24 hours after one person was killed by gunmen along Kaduna-Zaria expressway in the state.

 

Dozens of passengers were also abducted during the incident that happened on Monday night around Gonar Magajin Gari, a community located along the expressway.
