Buhari in emergency meeting with service chiefs after ISWAP attack in Borno

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently presiding over an emergency Security Council meeting.

The meeting is taking place in the council chambers of the state house, Abuja.

On Thursday, the president said Nigeria was in its final phase in the war against insurgency while addressing troops of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, Borno state capital.

Earlier, the Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) had launched multiple rocket attacks on Maiduguri ahead of the president’s visit to the city to inaugurate projects done by the state government.

Many houses were destroyed by the explosives that landed in several areas including Ngomari, Bulumkutu, Ajilari and Ayafe communities.
