Ballon d’ Or 2021: Zlatan names player who should’ve won award

AC Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has named a player who should have won the 2021 Ballon d’Or award ahead of Paris Saint-Germain star, Lionel Messi.

Messi received his record seventh Ballon d’Or on Monday night in Paris.

Messi beat Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski and Chelsea’s Jorginho, to win the Ballon d’ Or.

But Zlatan believes the 2021 Ballon d’Or should have been awarded to Lewandowski.

The Sweden international, however, praised Messi and said the Argentine ‘lives for football’.

Asked whether he prefers Messi or Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic told Corriere Della Sera: “They are both very strong.

“I say Messi also because we played together.’

On the relationship he has with Messi, Ibrahimovic added: “Professional.

“Leo lives for football. But Lewandowski deserved the Ballon d’Or this year.”
