2022 World Cup play-offs: Pinnick gives update on where Super Eagles will play

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, has said the National Stadium in Abuja, will be given priority for the Super Eagles’ 2022 World Cup play-offs.

The stadium in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) was just recently refurbished.

Before now, the national team played their home matches at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

However, Pinnick has noted that Abuja “is the home of the national teams”.

He said: “Abuja is home of the national teams, but everywhere in Nigeria is our home. We are happy that Abuja has been fixed and it will be our first priority in the World Cup qualifiers in March.

“Lagos is also our home and very soon, the National Stadium will be hosting our games.”

Nigeria will face either Mali, Egypt, Congo DR, Cameroon or Ghana for a place in Qatar 2022.
