EPL: Lamptey reveals what Reece James did to him at Chelsea

Brighton star, Tariq Lamptey, has revealed what Chelsea defender, Reece James, did to him at Stamford Bridge.

Lamptey said James helped his development during his time in the Chelsea academy, adding that he was always giving him good advice.

The defender spent 11 years in the Chelsea academy before finally making his first-team debut as a second-half substitute in their 2-1 Premier League victory against Arsenal back in December 2019.

The 21-year-old left Chelsea for Brighton in the summer of 2020.

“When I was at Chelsea, Reece James was in the age group older than me. He was always giving me good advice. I’m happy to see him doing well and hopefully, that continues. Lamptey told talkSPORT.

“There was a good academy at Chelsea and they give you the tools you need to try and develop your game.

“It just so happens that they have a lot of players in that position, but they’ve got boys all around that can take it to the next level.”
