Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum has urged Nigerians to
remember the state in their prayers.
Zulum expressed confidence that Borno will surpass the gains
being recorded by security agencies in the search for enduring tranquillity.
The governor, in his Independence Day message signed by his
spokesman, Isa Gusau, said though there are signs of peace, efforts must be
redoubled for total victory.
Zulum urged the people to reflect on peace-building
initiatives executed over the years, saying peace will come if stakeholders
passionately undertake and deliver on assigned tasks.
“Our military, other security agencies and multinational
forces are doing their parts; our volunteers in the Civilian JTF, hunters and
vigilantes are complementing their efforts.
“The Federal Government and Borno State Government are doing
all things humanly possible to support armed forces and volunteers.”
Zulum reminded citizens of obligations to offer prayers and
share credible information that can turn into actionable intelligence for the
armed forces.
The governor assured that his administration is dedicated to
the continuous exploration of lawful and logical options in the bid to fully
regain peace, sustain ongoing resettlement and restore livelihoods.
