UNGA: Buhari’ll teach world leaders how to manage economy during pandemic – Presidency

The Presidency has said President Muhammadu Buhari would teach world leaders how to manage their economy during pandemic.

Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, said world leaders would learn how to overcome economic recession during pandemic from Buhari.

Adesina, while speaking with Channels Television on Monday night, said his principal would address the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, meeting.

Adesina said some of the countries attending the meeting were yet to recover from the recession caused by the pandemic, unlike Nigeria.

The presidential spokesman pointed out that not only did Nigeria recover from the pandemic-induced recession but the economy “recorded a GDP growth of 5.01. Buhari is going to teach the rest of the world how it was done.”

Adesina said the president “would talk about security. He would talk about the girl child, SDGs, and so many things.”

Buhari had on Sunday departed Nigeria for New York to participate in the 76th Session of the UNGA billed to open on September 14.

The theme for this year’s UNGA is “Building Resilience Through Hope – To Recover from COVID-19, Rebuild Sustainably, Respond to Needs of the Planet, Respect the Rights of People and Revitalise the United Nations.”
