VIDEO: Senator Smart Adeyemi 'sheds tears' over insecurity in Nigeria

 

Smart Adeyemi, senator representing Kogi west, caused a stir on the floor of the red chamber on Tuesday when he shed tears over Nigeria’s security challenges.

 

The All Progressives Congress (APC) senator was contributing to a debate on a motion sponsored by Mohammed Sani Musa from Niger east.

 

Sani had drawn the attention of his colleagues to the activities of Boko Haram insurgents in Niger state.

 

The insurgents were reported to have foisted the flag in the state on Monday.

 

During his contribution, Adeyemi got very emotional as he lamented the rising insecurity confronting the country.

 

Remi Tinubu, senator representing Lagos central, however, taunted him, asking: “Are you PDP (Peoples Democratic Party)? why are you talking?”

 

Adeyemi continued with his submission nonetheless.

 

 “This is the worst instability we are facing. In fact this is worse than the civil war,” the senators added.
