‘You’re happy people die?’ — backlash as Apostle Suleman reveal he prayed that COVID-19 doesn’t end | Nigerian News. Latest Nigeria News. Your online Nigerian Newspaper. f

Nigerians on Twitter have expressed their annoyance over a comment by Apostle Johnson Suleman, founder of Omega Fire Ministry (OFM), that the COVID-19 pandemic doesn’t come to an end.

A video had earlier surfaced where the clergyman boasted ofpurchasing his third private amid the pandemic which has pushed a number of countries across the globe into economic recession.

The 49-year-old also added that he prayed the pandemic doesn’t come to an end because he was “resting”.

“In COVID, I bought a jet. The third one. I have three. I was praying for COVID not to end because I was resting. While people were complaining, my wife asked, ‘Can life be this sweet?’,” he had said.

“No stress. I read on the net yesterday that there’s a rumour going around that I have a machine that prints money. I like that rumour. They said, ‘He should be investigated. He has a machine that prints money.”

The video has begun to provoke outrage on the Nigerian Twittershpere with a number of users wondering why the cleric will be happy about a virus that claimed the lives of over two million people.

“I’m not perturbed by Apostle Suleman’s message. I have a problem with church members who defend him in spite of the disheartening statement he made about COVID-19. You’re happy people are dying?” a user asked.

“I pray God helps Apostle Suleman. Everything is wrong in the fact that those words came out. The gospel of the kingdom is not about money money money alone. And when you speak in tongues, you are not printing any money. Haba!,” another user wrote.
