The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says 536 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Lagos on January 28.

There was no data for cases in Lagos in the NCDC daily update released Thursday night.

With the exclusion of Lagos, 864 fresh cases were reported — the country’s lowest in about four weeks.

In a supplementary update released on Friday, the cases went up to 1,400 after those from Lagos were added.

This brings the total of the country’s confirmed cases to 127,560, 101, 511 discharges and 1550 deaths.

The country has so far carried out 1.2 million tests as the world battles to contain the infections and flatten the curve.

Nigeria is expecting 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine in February.

On Thursday, Osagie Ehanire, minister of health, said the country has secured an additional 41 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
