Shehu Sani, former Kaduna lawmaker, has warned the federal
government to step up its effort in rescuing kidnapped students of Government
Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State.
Sani said this following the statement by Boko Haram leader,
Shekau claiming responsibility for the abduction of the school boys
The former lawmaker asked the government to step up efforts
to secure the release of the students before the terrorists take them over the
border or to the North East.
Sani said this on his official Twitter page on Tuesday morning, adding that every second counts at the moment to secure the students’ release.
His tweet read: “If the abducted students are with the
insurgents and not the bandits as purported, efforts must be stepped up to
ensure that the students are not moved over the border or to the North East.
And now, every second should count to secure their freedom by any safe means
necessary.
“Insurgents are terrorists driven by an extremist ideology
with a leadership structure, theocratic agenda and a global network. Bandits
are clusters of terrorists and violent extortionists, without any ideological
or religious inclination, their agenda is ransom and dispossession of land.”
