Garba Shehu reacts to Omokri’s offer of $20,000 to spend night in North without security

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Spokesman, Garba Shehu has reacted to an offer to spend a night in the Northern region without his security.

The offer was made to him by the ex-aide of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri in a Twitter war of words

Reno Omokri on Wednesday dared Shehu after the Presidential aide said his principal, Buhari has made Nigeria safe.

Omokri offered to pay Garba Shehu the sum of $20,000 if he spent the night in Kware local government area of Sokoto state.

On his Twitter page, he wrote: “Garba Shehu said General Buhari has made Nigeria safer. I vow to pay Garba Shehu $20000 if he will spend a night without security in Koshobe, or Kware, verified by an independent journalist. I will give the funds to @DeleMomodu when Garba accepts to go.”

Reacting, Garba Shehu turned down the offer.

He asked Omokri to keep the money, alleging that it is part of funds made in the name of Leah Sharibu.

His tweet read: “If this is the money from the collections made in the name of Leah Sharibu, the unfortunate Christian girl stolen by Boko Haram, I won’t touch it with a long… Please keep “your USD20000”.

Omokri wrote a book titled ‘Leah Sharibu: “The Girl Boko Haram left behind” narrating about the ordeal of the young girl kidnapped and held captive till date by the terrorists.
