New Arsenal goalkeeper undergoes medicals as Arteta lands Martinez’s replacement

Dijon goalkeeper, Runar Alex Runarsson, will undergo medicals with Arsenal on Thursday, according to the UK Telegraph.

The Gunners have agreed a £1.5 million fee for the 25-year-old with the French club.

Runarsson has quickly been identified by Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, as a replacement for Emiliano Martinez, who completed his £20m move to Aston Villa on Wednesday.

The move is now close to completion, with the young keeper due for medical checks.

It also claimed that Arsenal are still willing to signing Brentford goalkeeper, David Raya, even though Runarsson is close to signing for the club.

The Gunners are looking to sign Raya this summer but will allow him to remain at Brentford on loan for the remainder of the season.
