Liverpool to receive £5m as Coutinho fails to leave Barcelona

Philippe Coutinho looks set to stay at Barcelona for the 2020/2021 season.

The Brazilian midfielder looked set to leave the Camp Nou again, after spending last term at Bayern Munich on loan.

Arsenal, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur were all keen on bringing Coutinho back to England.

However, new Barca manager Ronald Koeman is counting on the player for the new campaign.

According to Spanish outlet, Sport, this decision means Liverpool is in line for a £5million, if Coutinho plays a further 15 matches for the Catalans this season.

It was one of a number of add-ons said to have been included by Liverpool in the £145m deal that took Coutinho to Barcelona in January 2018.
