Driver allegedly defiles 13-year-old

An Iyaganku Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ibadan, on Monday, ordered that a driver, Wale Oladeji, be remanded in Agodi Prison for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old Junior Secondary School II, student.

The police charged Oladeji, 30, of No 27, Itamaya Oke-Ado, Ibadan, with defilement.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, did not take the plea of the defendant.

Ogunkanmi gave the order, pending legal advice from the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

She adjourned the case until May 17, for mention.

The prosecutor, Insp Sikiru Opaleye, told the court that Oladeji on March 28, at about 4pm raped the victim in the toilet of her mother’s shop.

He said the victim’s mother reported the matter at the State CIID, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
