Lawmaker from Kaduna Central,
Senator Sani Shehu, on Thursday alleged that “hidden forces” in the Presidency
has refused issuing appointment letter to the Resident Electoral Commissioner,
Asmau Sani.
Sani, who is the Chairman of the
Senate Committee on Foreign Loans and Local debts, while making the disclosure
said the affected REC was one of the nominees recently confirmed by the Upper
Legislative Chambers.
In a tweet via his social media,
Sani wrote: “We confirmed Female nominee, Dr Asmau Sani for appointment as REC
but she was denied appointment letter by some hidden forces in the Presidency.”
