Ex Fashola’s Aide And Lagos Electoral Commissioner Is Dead

Frontline Politician and an aide to former Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Lateef Raji is dead.

Raji submitted to the cold hands of death around 4a.m Monday morning. Although details of the immediate cause remain sketchy, the late politician is said to have been suffering from cancer of the throat for a long time, a disease that kept him from functioning for several months during Fashola



Until his death, Raji was a Commissioner at the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC.

The news of Raji’s death was greeted with sadness especially in Oshodi area, where he started his political journey.

A one-time Commissioner in Lagos State under for Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, Lateef Raji had at various times held political positions both at party levels as well as in government. He was the State Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy during the troubled era of the party before jumping ship to the Action Congress.

News from family sources say that there are plans to take the remains to Ido Ani in Ondo State, his ancestral home for a State burial.

Raji is survived by  a wife and children
