Okorocha planning to install his son-in-law as Governor – APC chieftain

There was an altercation yesterday between Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and a chieftain of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Uche Onyeaguocha.

The disagreement was over which zone would produce the next governor of the state in 2019.

The development, which took place at the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, secretariat, during the 2017 World Press Freedom Day, got many in attendance talking.

Drama started when Onyeaguocha openly alleged that Okorocha was plotting to install his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu as his successor.

Onyeaguocha represented Owerri federal Constituency, at the House of Representatives.

“There is a big issue in Imo state and that is which of the zones will produce the next governor of Imo state.”

“The governor said there is nothing like zoning; why is it that his deputy is from another zone and the Speaker of Imo House of Assembly from another zone?”

Okorocha later attempted to calm nerves, saying the state leadership and stakeholders will meet and decide before the next governorship election.

  1. If you don't know before, better know it now that IMO STATE is a Plantain Plantation Estate that belongs to OKOROCHA. If OKOROCHA hands over to his Son In law to manage his Plantain Plantation Estate on till his own Son "Okorocha Junior" come of age to take over his father's Plantation Estate, is nobody's business. Imo people should go about their normal business please. The Estate owner is in-charge.

  2. Okorocha can't produce his son-law to replace him. Imo state is not his empire.

Owerri zone has no claim to produce next governor, because Owerri zone hosts every modern development infrastructure in Imo state. Let the best candidate win in 2019.
