"Buhari is fit to run for president 2019"

President Muhammadu Buhari, is fit to run for presidency in 2019, his Special Assistant on National Assembly Matters, Alhaji Abdulrahman Sulaiman Kawu Sumaila has said.

Speaking to newsmen in Kano on Monday, Sumaila, said, it was a normal thing for an aged person like Buhari to fall sick, saying even the pressure of work could make him fall sick.

However, Sumaila said only competent medical experts could ascertain whether the president was fit or not to run for the seat come 2019.

He said the issue of president’s health status was not a new thing, as according to him many things had been said about his health condition since the very first time he contested for president in 2003.

“I am confident that President Buhari will recover and continue to steer the affairs of this country to complete his first tenure and re-contest for the second one in 2019,” he said.

He said that whether the former Kano state governor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso would contest for the seat or not, Buhari would be waiting for whoever is eyeing the position.

“Kwankwaso has contested alongside Buhari in the 2015 presidential election and he had seen the consequences of his action. So, let him try it again,” he said.

  2. Foolish comments from a depraved mind. Is Osibanjo, Buhari's enemy?? No. They are partners in progress. In the history of this Nation, we have never seen a President and his Vice, who are friends and have a lot of respect for each other. Other preaidents used to treat their vice like house boys. No assignment, no duty, just ceremonial.. #Godblessbuharidgreatleader
