The All Progressives Congress,
APC, Benue State chapter has vowed to force the state governor, Samuel Ortom
and his deputy, Benson Abounu to seek re-election in 2019.
The Chairman of the APC in Benue
State, Comrade Abba Yaro, said Ortom had done well and had every reason to
re-contest in 2019.
Yaro made the remark yesterday at
the IBB Square in Makurdi, during the celebration of this year’s Democracy Day.
“APC in the state will purchase form for Governor Ortom and his deputy to return in 2019.
“We will force them to contest because they have done well in the past two years, more than the 16 years spent by the PDP in power,” he said.
Also, the state’s Deputy
Governor, Abounu, in his speech at the occasion, emphasised the need for the
present administration to secure a second term in office.
Abounu said: “We believe in the
grace of God that there will be a second tenure,” he said.
