VIDEO: Nigerian coke made with only borehole water, gas – Rep. Kazaure

Member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing the Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Yankwashi Federal Constituency of Jigawa State, Muhammed Kazaure Gudaji, has observed that the Coca-cola drinks in Nigeria were made with borehole water.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, party member made this known while speaking before the House of Reps. on Wednesday.

In a Youtube video, Gudaji said, “Mr. Speaker, this is a very serious issue about Coca-cola, Fanta and others.

“Quite alright, I am with the minority leader and whatever minority says is true.

“Yesterday, I was driving from Kaduna and I buy Coke. The type of Coke I see in this country is totally different from the Coke I buy in Niger Republic last week.

“Unfortunately when you go to bordering Katsina State to buy Coke, Fanta or sprit, you will see difference. Maybe they use those borehole water and some chemical and allow people to consume.

“That was what I observed because seriously when you taste the coke, sometimes you’ll taste only water and gas with little sugar and when you taste another one, you will taste something like borehole water.

“So Mr. Speaker, seriously, it is the responsibility of agencies like NAFDAC and standard organizations to make sure they have a serious committee on the production of these drinks…”

His observation is coming after the Federal Government, said the Nigerian Bottling Company, NBC, did not breach the standards of production in Nigeria.

It affirmed that Fanta and Sprite were safe for consumption.

  1. jokes aside, this man is saying the truth. I too have noticed the so called soft drinks taste and its appalling to have allowed such adulterated beverages circulate within the country just for a few coins. Nafdac is dead, Ms Dora was the heart and brain of the agency. When she died, the legacy died with her. Your cousins, brothers sisters children and even parents drink these things. If anything happens, its very easy to point towards the two faced relatives n your villages that is doing you. But we are quick to ignore/forget that its these simple things that we consume and we pay zero notice on that are the real culprits. More on those that manufacture it in their homes. The earlier we cultivate the habit of doing the right thing, the better it is for us to move forward and evolve based on familiarity and sentiments..

  2. B/c strangers know our problem that it's just to bribe any government law enforcement agency and nothin would happen over any offence, no matter the gravity. They dare try such in GCC countries in middle east, they will be forgotten or pay through their nose without negotiations.
As long as it's naija, everything goes.
