Fani-Kayode’s wife, eight-month-old baby arrested by EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday arrested and detained the wife of former Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Precious Fani-Kayode in Ado Ekiti.

The former spokesperson of the 2015 Goodluck Jonathan Campaign Organistaion, on Monday narrated the incident in a statement.

“My wife travelled to Ado Ekiti to see my friend and brother Governor Fayose and his family.

They were on their way out of town when they went to Access Bank in Ado Ekiti to get some money.

When they got there, my 8 month old son Aragorn and wife Precious Chikwendu were illegally detained, brutalised and put under arrest on the orders of the EFCC at a bank in Ado Ekiti today,” he said.

Fani-Kayode lamented that his wife ‘has never been formally invited by the EFCC or asked any questions about her transactions and neither have they written to her on any issue even though they are always sending letters to my house and sending people there’.

He noted that ‘the account has 200,000 naira in it and that has never had more than 500,000’, adding that the account has no connection with him and he was not aware it existed till today.

He added that he intended to sue the anti-graft agency while blaming President Muhammdu Buhari for his ordeals.

“We intend to sue the bank and to sue the EFCC for this illegal and wicked action. They have no right to do this. If they want to see my wife all they need to do is to invite her. We have nothing to fear. They do not need to be so primitive and barbaric to people”.

“In an attempt to starve and harass me and my family all my accounts and wife’s accounts have been frozen. Now they are resorting to arresting perceived enemies’ wives and children for no just cause”

“Had it not been for the intervention of Governor Ayo Fayose, they would have taken them away and subjected them to all manner of harm and indignities simply because she is married to me.

“I thank God for Gov. Fayose and the people of Ado Ekiti who stormed the bank and freed my wife from this illegal detention and attempt to kidnap them.

“Had it not been for the governor’s intervention and presence the bank would have been burnt down by the crowd. My family have since left Ekiti state,” he said.

  1. I weep for this country. EFCC staff were never babies. They were given birth to "fully grown"

    1. You must be naive to believe the story exactly as told by FFK. Wait for EFCC to state their own side. It may not have been anything like FFK narrated here.

EFCC pls stop this already...who do you take this orders from?..this is indeed barbaric...if I was Governor fayosi and you do that to my friend's wife in my own state; I would order for immediate arrest Of those EFCC staffs ,they surely have things to explain to me, very soon criminals will dress up and kidnap people in the name of EFCC. Buhari is setting a very bad precedent

  15. And an Igbo girl is living in sin with Fani-Kayode after he publicly insulted and demeaned Igbo women? Na wa o, some girls and their families all because of money. Yes i said living in sin because he has been previously married and that is how the bible perceives any woman co-habiting with a married man. Tufiakwa! Alu na eme. Please chanbe your name already, you are a disgrace to us.
