Jubilation in Enugu as NJC sacks Chief Judge

Wide jubilation erupted in Enugu metropolis especially among judicial circles over the compulsory retirement, meted on Enugu Chief Judge, Justice Innocent Umezuruike, of Enugu High Court by the National Judicial Council,NJC, who was alleged to have been involved in a number corrupt and fraudulent activities.



Umezuruike, the highest ranking justice for Enugu State, has been embroiled in numerous controversies related to his conduct while in office prompting NJC’s action during a meeting late last Thursday evening.

He was famous for his appetite in dissolution of marriages describing it as,”a union which has broken down irreparably”.

It was learnt that the NJC was undaunted with torrents of petitions from judicial officers and litigants over Umezuruike’s conduct which culminated to their decision to send him on compulsory retirement.
