I suffered immeasurably but I’m not broken — Fani-Kayode says after release from EFCC

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode who has been in detention since May 9, 2016, was released today, Friday, July 15, 2016, after fulfilling his bail conditions.

In a statement released by the former Minister of Aviation, he said his trial and detention were all politically motivated but that he would not be broken.

While expressing thanks to all those who stood by him in his trying times, he reiterated his innocence while stating his readiness to stand trial and vigorously defend himself.

He also vowed that the struggle would continue. Read full details of his press release shortly after he was released: “I give thanks to God that I am free after 67 days in detention. I thank my wife, lawyers, children and friends for all their support.

This was the worst experience of my life but God was with me all the way. I suffered immeasurably but I count it all as joy.

I am innocent of all charges and I look forward to defending myself vigorously in court. These charges are politically motivated and I have been severely punished for my political views and criticisms of the government.

They are trying to silence me, break me, discredit me and destroy but as long as Jesus is on the throne this will never work. I am strong and I am bold and the struggle will continue.

  7. 7:49 and 7:51am, both of you are kangaroos. Was he a political office holder under GEJ? He was paid for a job which he did perfectly irrespective of where the money came from, u don't ask your customers where they got the money they use in patronising your business.
They should bring GEJ in for questioning rather chasing shadows cos he was the person that authorised all the money that was disbursed by Dasuki, let's stop beating around the bush.

  10. I thank our Christian God for delivering you from the senile Fulani efcc. They have tried and I am sure they have not broken you. This is what happens when an impotent is in power. No Fulani and idiotic power can cow the opposition in this country. They know they have failed and the next election will see them booted out or this country will divide that's why they are bent on eliminating those that will ensure their defeat. Forger head, corrupt wife and Wahhabi cabinet. Fools.

  11. Even though you have walked through valley of shadow of death ,you shall fear no evil. The lord's rod and staff is your comfort.
The Fulani EFCC has not broken you. you are the last voice of the voiceless . They neede you there while they lick their own spittle and reverse themselves on the fuel suns ify and devaluation . They did not want an articulate voice showing them to their foolishness.

  12. The EFCC and SSS should investigate the Chief of Army staff if this government is serious about corruption. How come they are the ones investigating the military chiefs who allegedly embezzled money under Jonathan's regime but now it is the army and military command that are coming out to clear the Chief of Army staff. Let the EFCC investigate him and clear him if he is innocent. Double-standards similar to Animal Farm.

Your trial in court will soon commence & if you are proved innocent, court will discharge and acquaint you, then rule of law is playing on. Then you carry on your crusade of criticism, no problem, afterall, you are a Nigerian.
