Fresh shootings at Florida nightclub leaves 2 dead, several injured

According to Metro, two people have died and up to 17 others have been shot at a nightclub in Florida, according to local news outlets.


Local news outlet WTSP said that up to 17 youngsters had been shot in the nightclub, according to Lt. Jim Mulligan of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting is said to have broken out at Club Blu in Fort Myers, Florida, in the early hours of this morning at a ‘teen party’.
One of the dead is reported to be 14. Police are at the scene.

There has been no official confirmation of the causes of the incident.
Syreeta Gary, whose daughter was at the scene said, ‘Well, I just thank God that my daughter is okay. She could have been shot. She was dodging bullets and dropping between cars.
‘It is ridiculous that kids have to go through this and they cannot enjoy themselves because you have people with criminalistic minds who want to terrorize people.
‘She was running away from bullets so she wouldn’t get shot. Her friend got shot in the leg.

Local news reports that dozens of evidence markers showing shell casings are littered outside the scene of the crime.

The attack is reported to have happened at a ‘teen’ club night – although police have not yet provided any details of the incident.
