President Buhari would be back to Nigeria on Sunday - VP Osinbajo

President Muhammadu Buhari would be back to Nigeria on Sunday, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has said. Recall that President Buhari left Nigeria for London, United Kingdom, on Moday, June 6, 2016, on a-10 day medical trip to treat an ear infection.

He was due to return to Abuja at the expiration of the 10-day leave today but Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said yesterday he would stay back in London to rest for a while.

Speaking to State House correspondents shortly before the commencement of the National Economic Council, NEC, meeting on Wednesday, Osinbajo said the President would come back on Sunday, adding that the President was in good health. “The President will be back on Sunday. I spoke with him yesterday evening and I think it is just the best that he takes the weekend off.

I am sure he will certainly be back on Sunday. “I think the most straightforward thing is when he will be back. He will be back on Sunday. There is no point rushing back on Friday or something like that. “He will just take the weekend off and be back on Sunday. He is in perfect health and ready to resume work on Monday morning.

“Mr. President is in good condition, he is fine, he is very well. He should take a day or two off in London and rest a bit and come back hale and hearty on Sunday and be ready for work on Monday. So, gentlemen, we expect him back on Sunday,” the Vice President said.

  1. It's a pity! Old man that's supposed to be home resting and enjoying his old age till d day God will call him home is now struggling and stressing himself up and down all in the name of power hunger! Now instead of him to work now we are hearing Mr President is sick, is resting, and on a trip abroad. When there are vibrant men in this country who are capable to make a great impact, still wondering when that time will come when the youths will take over leadership of this nation! God have mercy on this nation.

    1. A country where retirement age is 65, an above 70-year old is made to carry the heaviest employment burden in the country - the irony of the nation called Nigeria. What do the people who voted such a man in expect - of course, leave and rest here and there.

  2. Unfortunately the state of the country and the corrupt ability of our younger Nigerians made it necessary to bring a man out of retirement age to help straighten our Nation out. The so called younger ones have done it.... We see where we are today. Even an ordinary SA Domestic of the ex President is being investigated for Billion Naira Fraud...to make it clear, he was only in charge of food, domestic staff etc of the President not the whole of the nation. Haa! May God help us.
