New Niger-Delta militant group emerges (Asawana Deadly Force of Niger Delta), demands sovereign state

President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent efforts to bring succour to the crisis ravaged oil rich Niger Delta region may witness yet another hindrance as a new militant group, Asawana Deadly Force of Niger Delta, ADFND, emerged, yesterday, in the region, threatening to cripple the oil industry across the nine Niger Delta states unless the Federal Government grants them, “Niger Delta Republic in the next couple of days.”

The group in a statement by its leader, Commander Olomubini Kakarakokoro, a.k.a No Mercy, said that, “Except our demand for Niger Delta Republic is granted, without further notice to the Federal Government, we shall proceed to bomb Bonga field flow station, Asaba- Onistha Bridge, Third Mainland Bridge and other major bridges in the Southtern part of the country, just for a start.

“The Federal Government should as a matter of urgency, withdraw all the military check points from the riverside areas of the Niger Delta, else we shall proceed to match against any baby military formation in the region without further notice. “We are most dreaded, deadly and dangerous group in Niger Delta.

Our team is comprised of specialists in different fields of war, and is poised to win the struggle for a Niger Delta State. Our struggle is not for monetary benefit or the so-called monthly N65,000 amnesty stipend. It is for the liberation and the development of the Niger Delta region. “We therefore, warn every other group or persons as regards the fake dialogue process embarked upon by the Federal Government to know that they are not doing that for us. We are taking over from our brothers, the Niger Delta Avengers.

“As we speak all preparations and plans are on ground to strike and bring down the crude oil production to 0%, irrespective of the of the military presence in the region. The Federal Government will hear from us.”

  1. All these militant groups coming out, is this not the beginning of the end for the Niger Deltans, soon they will start fighting amongst themselves. You can see how all this is about power and self serving and not the so called liberation of their people. Lets keep watching….

The region truly is filled with unintelligent people who are hell bend on destruction. I can safely say this region is cursed!

    1. My question is why are they all coming out now? Even their son in 6 years did nothing to develop the region and their leaders who claim to represent them merely enriched their pockets. They are now the ones funding the various groups. Over 7 trillion was spent on Niger delta since democracy separate from their monthly allocations . They should kill their leaders first. Selfish and personal interest is all I see
      They are indeed cursed.

  10. Niger delta this, niger delta that. If this militants really love their region so much, why not unite under one umbrella (maybe MEND) so your army will be stronger and your voice heard. That's the disadvantage of dialoguing With terror groups, more will surely spring up. Anyway, someone promised to make the country ungovernable if he loses, that's what he's reaping

  11. Yeah! Destroy your land and creeks! Other parts of the country are already adjusting to a Nigeria without oil revenue. They are going back to farm and focusing on export. You will remain impoverished because you are all fighting for your selfish interests and not the interests of your people. You are the only states that depend entirely on oil revenue. So, stop oil production completely and see how you survive!

  13. U guys are talking non sense, PMB has sent NDDC budget of about N260bn for a start to the NASS of which they've approved N262bn. Talks are going on now as we speak because the FG cannot engage these people in military confrontation because of our over stretched military. FG will drop criminal charges against alot of them.

  14. Kachikwu may not be as smart as we thought after all. He should have known the danger in dialoguing with NDA - he should have known that other groups would emerge in the belief that violent militancy is the only way to get attention.

Niger Delta this and Niger Delta that,Go ahead and bumb everywhere and see who loses at the end of the day?Is it only Niger Delta we have in this country? It is because the Military is leaving you to do all sort of nonsense. You want to scare people----- Go ahead and strike and see what will happen to you and your oil,so you will be fetching your oil to drink.
