Femi Fani-Kayode reportedly ‘attacked in EFCC custody for praying’




Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode who is in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was reportedly assaulted by on of the agents of the commission.


According to several sources on social media, Fani-Kayode alongside other detainees were attacked by a certain Kabiru Suleiman from Kebbi state for praying while in custody.

One of the sources said, “Matters came to a head on Saturday when, without any provocation, Suleiman Kabiru, a Muslim from Kebbi state charged at Fani-Kayode injuring him in the process.”

Meanwhile, the Director of New Media for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Deji Adeyanju has confirmed the veracity of the attack.

Through his Twitter account, Adeyanju said,

  5. the era of using religion as political tool is over. u hv looted fund and want to use the name of religion to draw sympathy.   6. Which crime did he commit? Since PDP had no campaign funds that was disbursed for the campaign apart from Dasuki gate then am sure up to millions of Nigerians benefitted from this so called money that should have been used to save lives. This Dasuki gate list is still very long am sure and efcc should be ready to accommodate so many Nigerians. Arrest the giver of the monies, no instead you intimidate messengers and receivers that didn't know the source of monies disbursed. As far as PDP campaigned widely, millions of Nigerians must have benefitted from that money. EFCC stop wasting our time and arrest the main sources. You have gotten enough information.

    If EFCC is sure of their claim, what are they waiting for, to charge him to court.
    I regret casting my vote for Buhari, may God forgive me.
