Injured Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger was in the Spanish capital to watch girlfriend Ana Ivanovic start off on a winning note in the Madrid Open, beating Katerina Siniakova in the first round 6-3 3-6 6-4 on Sunday.
Ahead of the 28-year-old's match, the couple - who have been dating since 2014 - enjoyed a romantic stroll around Madrid at the weekend.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder and his girlfriend displayed a public show of affection as they were pictured cuddling up in Spain.
They took a break from their stroll around Madrid by resting on a bench where Schweinsteiger was intent on staying as close to his partner as possible.
The Germany midfielder then returned to Manchester to watch from the stands on Sunday as United battled to a 1-1 draw with title-chasing Leicester City at Old Trafford.
