Pillars Fans Resort To Violence After Enyimba Loss

Kano Pillars's fans took to violence in Kano after Enyimba defeated their team Kano Pillars 2-1 in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League game on Wednesday.

The fans started throwing objects onto the pitch immediately after Nzube Anaezemba cancelled out Rabiu Ali's opener in the match dubbed Nigeria’s ‘El Clasico’.

When the fans threatened to get more unruly, the police security at the game had to fire teargas to disperse them.

And the scenes continued after the game, with the Pillars fans going after the Enyimba team bus, with the driver reportedly injured after he was hit with an object.

Several phone calls to Pillars spokesman Idris Malikawa to confirm or deny this report were unanswered.

Pillars would have gone on top of the Nigeria league had they had beaten Enyimba.

They host bottom team Ikorodu United on Sunday in continuation of the league.
