I didn’t collect N100m from Yuguda — Bode George

Ex-Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Demcoratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George, has denied collecting N100 million from former Minister of Finance (State), Mr Bashir Yuguda, saying it is another blatant falsehood, stripped of any iota of truth.

George, who is also the Atona Oodua of Yorubaland, described the claim as “mischievous and deliberately fraudulent.”

The PDP leader, in a statement said: “My attention has been drawn to another mischievous and deliberately fraudulent claim that I collected N100 million from Bashir Yuguda, the former Minister of State for Finance. This is another blatant falsehood, stripped of any iota of truth. This is yet again a depraved continuation of lynch mob journalism orchestrated by an online newspaper.”

In an effort to set the records straight, he said: “The salient fact is that very early this year, long before the election period, the party set up Contact and Mobilization Commttee for each zone to reconcile various factions and ensure a firm unity of purpose within the zones before the election. I was elected as the Chairman for the South-West zone.

“The committee which was made up of 18 senior members of the party with distinguished history of honour and exemplary leadership, met at least 10 times in my office in Lagos. These people travelled all the way from every corner of the South-West, with three members representing each state. All of them are very much alive to testify to my assertions. Sometime in the middle of these deliberations, Yuguda came to me and said the party was reimbursing the 18 elders of the committee for their transportation, accommodation and feeding allowance for the work that was done.

“The committee later submitted the report of its deliberations to the party and then wound up. For all these efforts Yuguda gave the committee only $30,000. That was less than N6 million at that time. Yuguda can never claim that he gave the Committee N100 million. That is the figment of the imagination of rascally scribblers purporting to be journalists. Again, facts are sacred.”

  2. Oga Bode, the last time i checked Yuguda was a PDP member just like you. This means one of you must be telling lies. The important thing is that we must recover all the monies looted and send all of you wicked people to jail whatever party you are in. Shameless lot. You should all be made to face firing squad. That is the only way to make people think twice before stealing our commonwealth.

  6. Oga George, don't blame journalist. They are reporting what Yuguda claimed. It is not the fault of journalists that Yuguda collected 100 m and gave you less. What about other sums collected by you.?
You must return to your house - jail. Your vacation ( freedom ) is over. Hope you will not hire drummers to court this time around.
Bode, I pray for you, you will not die, you will live to complete your term in prison and come out todo thanksgiving again. Amen IJN

  8. This confession shows clearly why being at Aso Rock is a do or die affairs? Imagine how PDP are sharing our resources shamelessly among their members. Yet a self appointed yoruba leader wants to replace Tinubu.A Tinubu legacy remains an albatross to ex-military old men.The success of a true leader is how many leaders he is able to raise, for Tinubu evidence abound across the length and breath of Yoruba land. When he cronies called him Asiwaju some of us laugh at the glorification. Fortunately we have been proved wrong

  9. Pls did I hear bode George talking of people with distinguished xter and honour? I am always amazed that these elders always think we are so myopic in this country or that we forget so easily? For one, he is far from being honourable and 2, tell him to return our money or else, there won't be another pardon foe him

  12. Whoever knows this uncle well will never expect any truth from him, though since he learnt his exemplary leadership from Kirikiri, the history stood him out among his peers, but the uncle should please refund our N100 Mills or be made to die in prison, others who are not as criminally minded are opening up but he will never, it's not easy to be a ex convict, he is a consultant in looting.

  13. You can now see why our Naira has become worthless: You gave US Dollars in transport money to Nigerians attending meetings in Nigeria? When the ruling party starts to pay sitting allowance and bribe in foreign currency, you should not be surprised that your Naira quickly becomes worthless.

  14. Now the show continues. As I have commented a week ago on this platform, the anonymous commentators who will stop at nothing to condemn PMB for his onslaught on these criminals called leaders will soon frizzle out because they lack the wisdom to understand Nigerian & Nigerians' predicament. Lesson 1 is that it is now obvious that PMB's administration is not responsible for the depreciation been suffered by our Naira now. The Hon. Minister for Information & Communication has assured all Nigerians that all hope is not lost despite the humongous looting been unraveled now. Our economy will soon bounce back.

  16. Well, how are we so sure that more horrible things aren't happening right now. I just wish PDP will win the next election in 2019, APC wins in 2013 etc. So that each party will be scared to loot for the fear of the other. How on earth will all this revelations ever come out if opposition party never won. This is sounding like African Magic...
