Presidency refuse to comment on Diezani Alison-Madueke’s arrest

The Presidency on Friday, declined to comment on the purported arrest of the immediate-past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke (DAM), in London, as well as the invasion of her Asokoro, Abuja residence by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

When asked to confirm if the arrest and invasion by the EFCC were based on the request of the Nigerian Government, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said: “No comment for now. You can confirm from the security agencies.”

It was gathered that some vital documents were removed from the former minister’s Abuja home, reportedly ransacked earlier on today by the anti-graft operatives

Mrs Deziani was said to have been arrested today, in London, UK, by the newly formed International Corruption Unit (ICU) of the country’s National Crimes Agency.

She was reportedly arrested along with four other persons in relation to corruption allegations being investigated by the UK anti-crime Agency.

NigerianEye however gathered that she was however released on bail on Friday evening and mandated to report at Charing Cross Police Station on Monday after her passport was confiscated
