Buhari orders probe of EFCC boss


President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered a discreet investigation of the leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over sundry allegations of acts incompatible with leadership of the anti crime agency.

According to Vanguard Newspapers the investigations is being coordinated by the office of the National Security Adviser and involves officials from the National Intelligence Agency and the Department of State Services.


A source in the office of the National Security Adviser revealed that the investigation commenced before the widely publicised by Dr. George Uboh, Chief Executive Officer, Panic Alert Security Services alleging that Ibrahim Lamorde, Chairman, EFCC through various fraudulent Acts/Omissions could not account seized monies amounting to over one (1) Trillion Naira” .

  1. This is a step in the right direction. I think the President should go a step further to investigate any allegations of corruption even against any ministerial nominee in order not to tarnish his stance on corruption. Whether the President has confidence in that ministerial nominee or even political associate or not, as long as there are allegations of corruption hanging on their neck, the best thing is to clear all such allegations. This is the only way Nigerians will believe that the President is serious with his zero tolerance stance on corruption in this country.
