President Muhammadu Buhari has called for the inclusion of two Islamic Studies books written by late Justice Muhammad Bashir Sambo in the secondary school curriculum for all Federal Government Colleges in the country.

According to The News Agency of Nigeria, President Buhari gave the directive at the weekend in Kaduna while launching the reviewed editions of the books which were first published in 1974.

Represented by Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, the president, according to NAN noted that such books had become essential in the face of declining moral and religious values in the country.

According to him, the books will help in salvaging the declining moral and religious values in Nigeria.

  5. Please going by the greatest moral degrade : where the bokoHaram beasts have not seen humans as humans, so the books would be better in Northern schools, after all the southern, east and part of the west ,do not know how to read Arabic, so our president should leave them with religious books, that way it's balanced.........going forward please other areas that require your attention fast. Fuel, food and transportation cost....Light though fair lately but can get better too.

  6. You people never cease to amaze me. I believe appointments should be based on merit and who can be trusted, and it shouldn't matter which tribe or religion that is appointed, what matters is whether the person delivers or not. So far, all the appointments made by the President has been on merit and who can be trusted. So, what's our stress?

  8. Anonymous You are very selfish ,so the president cannot find merit and trust in the south East had it been a Southern president doing this ,you people would have started cutting heads ,very selfish talk indeed .we know the hidden agenda ,you have used book Haram to gain power, now even before the end you are already talking of reconstruction and borrowing Billions of dollars.Buhari in Nigerian Northern President and he is not bidding the fact .they said nigeria will not divide in 2015 but I don't know of 2019,Do you know that why he appointed a south south for NNPC is to use him as a whitch hunt ,but it will surprice us that 90% of the so called Nigerian looters and oil thieves are northers.Note this ,he that takes power by the sword, the sword will never depart from his dwelling.

  9. but he recommended/directed the books for Islamic studies now, Islamic Relgious studies is an optional subject in primary and secondary schools.
Osinbajo should recommend or direct books for Christian Religious Studies too now, to balance the equation.

  10. Please keep this federal order only for Muslim students. Hopefully Boko Haram will not gain members from this gesture.

As much as i was against Mr No Vision Jonathan, I was skeptical of Buhari ONLY because of an ISLAMIC agenda especially because he was persistently trying to be president after so many failures AND by nature(from his past governance) BUHARI is not a dynamic person. A religious agenda is a highly motivating thing that can make a man like Buhari persistent to govern. I really hope i am wrong. We are watching keenly.

  11. "President Buhari's call for the inclusion of Islamic books in federal schools’ curriculum is a commendable step towards promoting religious tolerance and education in Nigeria. In a diverse society like ours, it's important to have a balanced and inclusive curriculum that reflects the beliefs and values of all religions. By including Islamic Books in the federal schools’ curriculum, students will have the opportunity to learn about Islam and its teachings, which will promote better understanding and tolerance between people of different faiths. This move will also help in the fight against extremism and terrorism, as students will be exposed to the peaceful and moderate teachings of Islam. I applaud President Buhari's efforts towards promoting religious tolerance and education in Nigeria and hope that this initiative will be implemented successfully.
