President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday sacked the Director General of the State Security Service, Ita Ekpenyong, and appointed Lawal Daura as new head of the agency.

He started his career in the State Security Service in 1982 and rose to the rank of Director.

He was at one time the Deputy Director Presidential Communication, Command and Control Centre at the Presidential Villa Abuja between 2003 and 2007.

  1. As at 2014, Lawal Daura was 61years old and by August 2015, he will be 62years. How come the man is still in service. The Nigerian Labour specifies retirement age to be 60ears or 35years of service, whichever comes first. So how can we justify Lawal still in service after 60years of age or his appointment? Maybe its change!
