Nigerian military rescues fresh set of 234 women and children from Sambisa forest

As the military onslaught to rid Sambisa forest of Boko Haram terrorists continue, another set of 234 women and children were rescued through the Kawuri and Konduga end of the forest on Thursday.

A statement from Defence headquarters said the women and children have been evacuated to join others at the screening center.

“This set is in addition to the previous individuals earlier rescued during the ongoing operation in the area” it said.

“The assault on the forest is continuing from various fronts and efforts are concentrated on rescuing hostages of civilians and destroying all terrorists camps and facilities in the forest” DHQ said.

  4. Hahahaha very funny. This same Sambisa forest they couldnt rescue even a rabbit for a year all of a sudden the military has rescued over 450 girls and women and yet they are not among the purported or alleged kidnapped 200 Chibok girls. I love this country...lol!!!

  5. What would they not do with them? After all most of them are fighting with the promised of getting seven virgins in their heaven. So, if they can get those women here is not heaven on earth for them?

  6. I doubt this "rescue" story. I suspect that these women and children are actually the families of BH fighters who fled in the face of superior military fire-power. They fled, leaving their families behind because they know the army would not harm women and children. You can see that many of the children were actually born there in the forest. I doubt if the women would disclose their true identities.
