Ndigbo group lists demands for Buhari

Ndigbo Unity Forum, NUF, an Igbo social-political organisation, has set a five-point agenda for the Preisdent-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), as a means of pacifying Ndigbo in all its ramifications.

Top on the agenda is ensuring the execution of the second Niger Bridge project, as scheduled; use of reputable persons from the Eastern region in his government, as well as giving the region an additional state.

In a press statement issued, yesterday, in Onitsha, Anambra State, shortly after its quarterly meeting, NUF also asked the President-elect to reduce accidents on federal roads by constructing a dual carriage way since most of the roads were currently single lane and in a state of disrepair.

According to the group, the President-elect should also implement the national confab report as this will help fortify national unity.

NUF said after examining the outcome and transparency of the just concluded 2015 presidential election, it had no other option than to congratulate the President-elect.

“NUF is confident that the President-elect will give Nigerians the desired change that will steer the economic and security situation towards the right direction.”

  1. Sounds like a malice list, Lol. I'm sure Buhari will give Soludo something. But I don't want him to surround himself with igbos. The ones that Jonathan surrounded himself with, is still purging him. As for the second Niger bridge, but Jonathan said he had already put 10 billion naira there. That should have gone a long wat by now.... Hmmm abi the money don miss road?

  6. The Ndigbo Unity Forum is a useless organization made up of shameless and greedy people. Jonathan has approved the contruction of second niger bridge for the past one year and yet not a single stone has been laid. Jonathan is still there now, hold him responsible to finish the job or get the name and the address of the contractors and those who signed the contract from him before his handover so that NUF can put pressure on them to complete the bridge.

  7. All these mushroom organisations should stop insulting and embarrassing the Igbos with these unwarranted public statements. Which other tribes are making this kind of demands on the ground? Unfortunately Igbos voted for GEJ not GMB. Whatever the Igbos get from GMB government we should be contented. The so-called Igbo leaders in GEJ government all were hands akimbo or sleeping all those while. Those noise makers should stop using their noises to invite ignominy for us Igbos outside the shores of Igboland. Lets all pray for this change. JAY 2, Abuja.

  8. I think the Ndigbos are right with thir demands.
My only reservation is that the SE is a relatively small geopolitcal zone and the creation of an additional state is unwarranted.
    -------my personal opinion though

    1. You are a bastard, if they didn't vote for him does it mean they are not Nigerians again and should be relegated? What happens to those few from the region that voted for him? The north did not vote for Jonathan in 2011 but did he relegate them, did he not channel his projects there? We are watching all of you anti Igbo
