The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Jimi Agbaje has congratulated the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Akinwunmi Ambode, who was declared the winner of the Lagos state governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Figures by the Independent National Electoral Commission showed that Ambode polled 811,994 votes while Agbaje got 659,788 votes, a difference of 152, 206 votes.
The PDP had rejected the results, claiming the card readers were manipulated during the elections in some areas of the state.
However, Ambode, who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Idowu Ajanaku, told newsmen that Agbaje called to congratulate Ambode at 6.50pm.
He said, “Mr. Jimi Agbaje called at exactly 6.50pm to congratulate Mr. Ambode. He prayed for Mr. Ambode and told him that he was looking forward to a more prosperous Lagos.”
Agbaje also personally congratulated Ambode in a tweet.
“I just called @AkinwunmiAmbode to congratulate him on his victory. I wish him well and pray he will be successful in guiding this state, ”
Akinwummi Ambode also acknowledged Jimi Agbaje's spirit of sportsmanship via his Instagram page.

You have been very consistent in your support for APC although I did not agree with some of your comments, I enjoyed reading them. Congratulations to Nigerians. One way or the other collectively we've made our choice(s). I hope elections in Rivers and Akwa Ibom will be cancelled though. Most states in Nigeria demonstrated political maturity. See you all in the next 4 years by God's grace.

DeleteI'm a strong PDP supporter. One thing I admire about Emilia is that she doesnt have to insult anyone to air her views. Unlike some APC erats on here. Emilia is just APC supporter, not an agent. Some people get her wrong. Congrats to all APC suppoters, you've all finalky gotten what you want. Lets just hope for the best, for the sake of Nigeria

Glory be to God for Nigeria and Nigerians.We are learning to embrace peace starting from our outgoing president.Bad pple will soon be faced out of governance .i mean pple like Fayose.I want to use this medium to persuade Jimi Agbaje not to relent.He should learn from Buhari who finally became democratically elected after a lot of criticisms.When God wanted to do his work,he brought out pple like Fayose who said Buhari will soon die, why voting for him,2 he brought Mama pcs who said they should be stoning anybody whoever call change.God entered into the heart our of our outgoing president who who beleived that security life of ordinary Nigerians is uppermost in his heart than his political ambition.What a nice president, but God will punishe his bad cabinet who spoilt his ambition for Nigeria. Furthermore,i wish to use this medium to persuade our brothers in the east and Niger Delta cum Ondo to ensure they cooperate with INEC policies on Election.Fraudulent attitudes are still in their heart.They should embrace honesty and integrity.A lot about manipulations were heard from the NYSC who were deployed to their area for election.Also we saw a lot from Channel tv station.President elect is advised to enact law to punish election manipulators or offenders.One of the punishment, i suggest is for them to be in prison for Four years.
