INEC declares Nyesom Wike winner of Rivers governorship election



Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barr Nyesom Wike has been declared winner of last Saturday’s governorship election in Rivers state, polling a total of 1,029,102 votes amounting to 87.77 percent to beat Dr Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressives Congress, APC who had 124,896 votes amounting to 10.65 percent to come a distant second.



The Returning Officer, Prof Faraday Oruwense announced the results at the Rivers state office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Port Harcourt in the early hours of Monday, saying that Prince Tonye Princewill of the Labour Party (LP), polled 10,142 (0.86 per cent) to come third.

  2. Well, Amechi brought this upon himself. Aside the fact that patience and Wike did some desperate evil things to procure this win, Amechi is always busy fighting everyone and forgetting to actually do his governor work by working for his people. People of rivers are tired of Amechi. Woke didn't need to rig the election to win. But trust PDP, always and always desperate to get what they want. I hope this case goes to tribunal tho, I don't want patience to get this so easy. That woman is something else. Her husband Jona is an angel

  9. Most of those against PDP in this forum are not from rivers state. Neither are they resident here. So must APC win all the states. Wike is bad but we like him that way. Cos Ameachi is worst. So why una drink panadol for our headache.
