PDP is planning to sack Jega and postpone election again – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised the alarm over the relentless scheming by the Jonathan Administration and the PDP to push for another postponement of the 2015 general elections, unless they can perfect a rigging plan, and called for the imposition of global sanctions on whoever scuttles the polls.

In a statement , Sunday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said the multi-pronged efforts to prevent the elections from holding as rescheduled include the use of some 23 portfolio political parties to seek a further shift in the election dates and the destabilization of INEC’s election plan through the orchestrated removal of its Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega.

It said the same 23 satellite parties of the PDP that were used to push for the six-week postponement of the elections have again started testing the waters by pushing for a further shift in the elections in the six-states of the North-east, ostensibly to allow the conclusion of the counter-insurgency battle and also to allow those displaced to return home.

”The plan is to use the same bogey of insecurity in the North-east to push for another postponement in the elections. The signs are ominous indeed. The body language of the President and his party does not support the holding of elections. They are mortally afraid of losing because the use of PVCs and Card Readers have thwarted their rigging plans,” APC said.

The party said while the 23 parties are pushing for the elections to be further postponed, the Jonathan Administration and the PDP are simultaneously forging ahead with their plan to remove Prof. Jega and replace him with a malleable acting Chairman whom, they believe, will do their bidding.

”Once they remove Jega, his replacement will either seek more time to organize the polls or simply jettison the plan to use Card Readers, thereby opening the door for those who have been buying up PVCs to use them.

”Is it not interesting that the same Administration that has been flaunting free and fair elections as a key achievement has now gone for the jugular of the same man who organized those polls? Is the man they don’t want not the same person who organized the 2011 polls which the Administration has described as free, fair and credible? What has now gone wrong between them and their poster boy for successful elections? it queried.

APC warned that the consequences of another postponement of the elections will be dire indeed, especially because it will create a constitutional crisis that is capable of endangering the country’s democracy and destabilizing the country in its entirety.

The party called on Nigerians, especially the civil society, to be very vigilant in the days ahead, as the cloud of uncertainty becomes thicker and the vultures begin to circle.

It also called on the international community to consider imposing stiff sanctions on key members of the Jonathan Administration if they force another postponement or scuttle the polls.

”We believe that Nigerians themselves bear the utmost responsibility for the success of their nation’s democracy and the survival of their country, and we commend those who have stood up to be counted in the ongoing battle to have free and fair elections.

”However, we also believe that the international community has a role to play in helping to check the desperadoes who are using the Laurent Gbagbo rule book as if it was made for them, and who will not hesitate to bring the whole system crashing down on all if that is what it will take for them to perpetuate themselves in power.

”Nigeria is too important to be toyed with or allowed to go under. For example, Nigerians make up more than 56% of the estimated ECOWAS population of 300 million. A destabilized Nigeria, therefore, is a destabilized West Africa and, indeed, a hobbled Africa!

”That is why we believe a travel ban and tough economic sanctions from the international community against these agents of destabilization will be in order. This is a patriotic call,” APC said.

  4. I GOT THIS FROM A VERY RELIABLE SOURCE.
When elements in GEJ’s government (Okupe, Fayose and FFK) vowed GMB will never become president, do not think they were bluffing. They are working day and night to make this a reality. They have devised several plans which have been neutralized in the past. Thanks to the proactive measures of some patriotic citizens. Please be informed that this government has not relented. New plans are being devised on a daily basis. The new plans are as follows. Please read and share widely. The idea is to let them know their plans have leaked.
Firstly, there are plans in the offing to impeach Rotimi Ameachi by hook or crook in a few days. This is to incapacitate him in many ramifications and as the campaign director of GMB Presidential campaign destabilize GMB’s campaign in general.
Secondly, suspects in prison for the murder of Funsho Williams are being primed to confess they were sent by Bola Tinubu. They have been promised heaven on earth even in prison if they can implicate him. The plan is to blackmail him into submission or at the very least distract him with a nauseous court case. It has been alleged GEJ met him in Badagry when he visited Lagos and tried to convince him to back out from supporting GMB. He was told he is number one on the list compiled by the General of those to be probed once he becomes President. Let it be known to all that Jagaban is under intense pressure at the moment to betray GMB. Lets pray this does not happen. (To be fair to him, he has not succumbed yet)
Nigerians must know the country at the moment is prostrate in a cesspit of corruption dug by a few. It is so humongous; Nigerians will shudder when they know the full details. And GEJ has been taken hostage by the monstrous clique of corrupt people responsible for this mess. Ordinarily, GEJ is willing to relinquish power if he losses. But these corrupt people have planted fear in him that GMB will send him to jail once he becomes President and discovers the level of rot in the system. That is why he is fighting tooth and nail to remain president. This much has been alluded to by General Obasanjo.
We must remain vigilant and be at alert. Do not ever disregard any information at this time. This government is capable of anything to sustain the status quo. They have the resources to accomplish much. The fake Shekau option has been discarded because it was leaked last week. The aforementioned plans among others are the new plans. The ‘ekitigate’ style is still very much on the table. You can see how it was tactically nipped in the bud at the House of Rep sitting last week.
There is still about 4wks to go before the elections. If one hour is a long time in politics you can imagine what 4wks will be. The ‘election will never hold’ plan is still alive depending on the success of their plans to weaken GMB’s campaign and decimate his support base in the coming weeks. If the plans succeed, elections may hold. If it does not, the ING contraption may be employed. Eternal vigilance is the price for freedom!. All eyes must be on this government and even on some elements in APC! This is an important information that should not be ignored keep forwarding.

    2. I agree Jega should be sacked. Sack Jega now? So many people in the south are yet to see their PVC. And the INEC chairman claimed that he is ready for election without producing all the PVC's. He produced PVC's for his friends only. An INEC chairman must not take side. JEGA MUST GO!

  8. It's obvious Jega wants a free and fair election which Pdp doesn't want. Isn't that obvious? He's not dancing to their tunes anymore. Some Nigerians have a small thinking capacity. If Jega is removed from office this election would be shifted for another 6 months to gain the new puppet chairman time to understand the affairs and be prepared for the election. Is it Jega that would drag u from your house to go and collect pvc? I've been telling my neighbour over 3 weeks that I saw his pvc at inec district office but he's still not interested in collecting it. A lot of Nigerians running their mouth don't know they're suffering as slaves in their own country.

    2. Your comment is completely out of place. How can there be free and fair election when you have INEC denying some people their right to vote especially from the South. I AM CALLING ALL THAT HAVE NOT SEEN THERE PVC TO GO TO COURT TO CHALLENGE THE RESULT OF THE ELECTION SINCE THEY REFUSE TO GIVE YOU YOUR PVC. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT ALL ACTS AS A TEAM. This will teach INEC a lesson never to ignore any part of the country when distributing its PVC. A lot of my friends have not seen their PVC. I find it difficult to understand why INEC are yet to produced those PVCs

  9. APC/Tinubu please spare Buharis life and stop dragging him on, Nigeria does not need any cabal running the affairs any longer let us do the right thing and stop these desparate move to propagate and circulate falsehood.

    1. Please talk for yourself. My mother and a lot of my friends have not seen their PVC's. Is INEC trying to deny their right to vote. Actually it is INEC that is supposed to be consumed by fire for claiming they are ready for election without producing all the PVC's cards

  12. Jega must be sacked and u the APCians cant do any thing.

  13. I support. Jega must explain why he was trying to go on with election when he has not given all Nigerians their PVC's. Sacking Jega is not enough, he should be made to explain his treacherous art in the court of law. He planned to deny a lot of people their voting right

    ReplyDelete
  14. If APC are truely fighting for the interest of Nigeria, why can't they tell Jega to complete his duty and send all PVC cards to all parts of Nigeria with no regional favourite. Jega should be neutral in the discharge of his duties
