Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has warned Nigerians not to vote for a mediocre performer as president.
Obasanjo who made this statement at his book launch, My. watch, in London, yesterday said that he said maintains the statement credited to him of his endorsement of APC presidential candidate, Gen Buhari
“What I said and I maintain that and I will say it again and I will do it. When the time comes for me to vote, I will consider the track record of all the candidates that are contesting and I will assess and based on my assessment for who I believe have the best track record to perform the job of the Nigerian president, then he will have my vote and if anybody should know what the job of the Nigerian president requires, I should know.
“And there is no sentiment in the affairs of Nigeria.Nigeria is a population of 180million and you wouldn’t have anybody other than one person or two persons that can run the affairs of Nigeria? What the hell are we talking about? For me there are millions who can run the affairs of Nigeria that are not even coming out.
So why should you die on behalf of one who is probably performing as a mediocre.
With all due respect. Nigeria, if you love it, you would look for the best for Nigeria and I don’t believe that at this point in time we have the best” he said
Hummm, the words of elder are full of wisdom, only the wise one grab the message.

This time 2011, you were going about with him, recommending him...What has suddenly soured your relationship with him? Your position in PDP is that if a father and when a child offends his father, that father would scold the child and later woo that child back to himself. As an elder statesman and a member of the ruling party of your magnitude or have you left PDP) Sir, even if you have left PDP, you are not meant to openly castigate GEJ as you' re doing no matter how he' s failed. You' re not meant to be fuelling the already heated political atmosphere in Nigeria. You rather are meant to be pursuing peace and stability not the divide. God will do what He chooses to do in Nigeria despite our actions or inactions. He' s sovereign. His counsel alone shall stand. Please Sir, ponder on the conduct and utterances of other past Heads of State like Shagari, Abdulsallam and Gowon to mention but a few, concerning the happenings (elections/insurgency, corruption etc) it could help you. We all have the liberty to follow our consciences to vote for whoever we choose to vote for but let's do it with love and maturity such that relationships can continue after the elections. I hope this gets to you Sir. I' m a silent observer of events in our nation. I shouldn't be mistaken as belonging to any party. God bless Nigeria.
ReplyDeleteOBJ shld stop all this rubbish , we Nigerians donot want his advised because he has destroyed this contry in the past as a military head of state and president for 12yrs without archieving any good thing that is why he is supporting buhari to come and steal Nigerian Money again after covering him up on looted PTF missing funds. We needed Democracy not circular Military junta like OBJ and Buhari restoring back Military rule in Nigeria instead of Democracy. In America Obama is a civilian President that is why he is performing more than past President of U S A. So OBJ stop deceiving Nigerians we have overgrown ur wrong advise , leave us alone to chose /vote who we want to hell with ur advise.GEJ has performed more than OBJ in 3 years so leave Jonathan alone, When OBJ came intop office declared #20,000. in his bank account, now after looting Nigeria resources to build Otta farm without accounting to Nigerians still open his none sense mouth to criticize a performing President . We will vote for GEJ.
