President Jonathan Vows To Continue Development If Re-elected

President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday said that the Federal Government was determined to take development to all parts of the country and asked the people of Rivers to massively vote for the PDP.

Jonathan said this while addressing the PDP presidential rally in Port Harcourt.

He said his administration had transformed the education sector by establishing Federal universities in states that had none.

” In our development, every part of Nigeria must be taken along .

” You will agree with me that when we looked at university education, we insisted that Federal Government must make sure that all Nigerian youths have the opportunity for university education, we did not divide north or south.

“We made sure that all the states that had no federal universities, got federal universities and that is our focus.”

Jonathan urged Rivers people to vote for him and Vice President Sambo, the party’s governorship candidate in the state, to enjoy democracy dividends.

‘’ I can reassure that just work with us. Vote for us on Feb. 14 and on Feb. 28 forWike and Ipalibo Banigo, and definitely, we must leave indelible prints in Rivers State.

‘’ Luckily, we have been challenged that we have not done anything. We must do something.’’

Addressing party faithfuls, First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan urged Rivers people to vote for the PDP because the party belonged to the state.

She also said PDP was the only party that gave women affirmative right and gender friendly.

“Rivers is PDP state and we have come back to take back our mandate.

” To my constituency, the women constituency, PDP is the only party that gave women 35 percent affirmative action. PDP is the only party that gave women attention.

“PDP is the only party that knows that women are intelligent, honest and have what it takes to develop this country.’’

Former Super Eagles Captain, Joseph Yobo, urged the people to vote for President Jonathan to move the country forward.

“Vote and support President Goodluck Jonathan . He is the only President that can lead us in a unified manner,’’ he said.

  3. The greatest threat that Nigeria faces is illiteracy. Most voters are rural village dwellers who do not understand the issues and have no access to information except through government-controlled radio stations. They end up voting for the party at the helm, in this case PDP in exchange for a cup or two of rice. To them, corruption is a way of life in the country, so why worry. they don't understand unemployment because they depend on the land for their bare existence. You can't make a difference when you cannot even read the name of the candidate on the ballot. The country is dying, not only from corruption and unemployment, but mostly from illiteracy.
