Former President of Nigeria,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo said God has given the country many chances to become great. But he added that the nation has wasted all the chances.
Obasanjo has now beseeched God to give the country another chance, especially as the nation moves towards another election.
He urged Nigerians to do the “needful” during the election period.
Obasanjo said Nigerians should thank God for what the country has given to us but, “now need to invoke the spirit of God to lead,guide and protect us in the new year.”
The former President stated this yesterday when he received Governor Ibikunle Amosun,who paid him a New Year Day visit at his hilltop residence in Abeokuta.
The visit was part of the governor’s visits to some eminent Nigerians and traditional rulers in celebration of the new year.

ReplyDeleteObasanjo is the luckiest Nigerian alive and should be grateful to God for that instead of attacking GEJ because he is not dancing to his music. But for God he would have long been dead with his friend Nzeogwu who masterminded the first coup and if not God again he could have been killed with Murtala Mohammed by Dimka. Col Dumuje who is his look alike was shot in his place. Abacha could have also sniffed life off him
ReplyDeleteAfter all these near misses he was head of govt twice. An attempt to elongate his tenure did not go down well and he left.
Like most heads of states living and dead, they dont openly criticise the government as they have access to the Presidency but instead he chose to do things at variance with Statesmanship. Now he is opening his mouth to say Nigeria could have been better. He had the opportunity of improving things when he was brought from Prison to rule the country for 8 years What did he do - nothing except the GSM he introduced with high tarriffs. An attempt to improve electricity was met with monumental fraud with the likes of Hon Elumelu and others.
Please don't bring the wrath of God upon yourself if you drag God into Nigeria's problems
